Descriptions:
🕷️ “Holy Spider” is an Iranian film directed by Ali Abbasi, focusing on a man’s violent actions in Mashhad, involving murders and blasphemy towards Imam Reza.
“Summary of the Story: The film’s story entirely takes place in the city of Mashhad. Rahimi, a female journalist from Tehran, arrives in the city to investigate a series of serial killings targeting local female workers. The murders follow a pattern: women are picked up on motorcycles from around the area, taken to a different location, suffocated with their own scarves, and their bodies are then dumped in local garbage areas. The serial killer Saeed Hanaei (using the alias Azhimi) is introduced from the very beginning. The film’s opening shows the last moments of one of his victims: a woman addicted to drugs, meeting some clients before her encounter with Azhimi. They travel to a run-down apartment complex, but she senses danger and attempts to escape before entering the apartment. Azhimi strangles her on the staircase and then flees with her body on his motorcycle.
